Nightly Bat Flight in Austin

We are about to head out to Austin to check out the flight of the Mexican Free-Tailed bats from under Congress Avenue Bridge.
From early spring to late Fall each year you can spot them swarming at sunset.
Locals and visitors alike line up along the edge of the pedestrian walkway and wait for the moment they begin their flight.
Besides the bridge itself, the Butler Hike and Bike Trail is another great vantage point from the park. Afterward, you can leave your car parked, rent a scooter and try a restaurant downtown.
Probably the most unique way to view the bats is from a kayak or boat tour below.
